Peter Karwowski becomes Deputy CEO of Klopotek
Klopotek is pleased to announce that Peter Karwowski has been appointed Deputy CEO for the Klopotek Group, effective from 1 August 2018. In addition to his new role, he will continue his responsibilities as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the Group.
Peter joined Klopotek as CTO and Member of the Executive Board in April 2015 with the goal of developing and executing the Group’s technology transition to become the best-in-class software provider for enterprise publishing based on latest software technologies and agile software development in close cooperation with our clients.
Uli Klopotek, CEO of the Group, explained that these goals have been achieved, pointing out that Klopotek is ideally positioned for the future:
“A large number of smart and intuitive web apps for supporting essential processes in publishing are now available on our cloud-based platform STREAM. An important milestone in our technology transition was reached last year when we convinced our customer base about the benefits of the STREAM transition approach and of joining the movement by becoming early adopters. Since then, the STREAM community has been growing steadily.
In July 2018, we reached another major milestone when our STREAM Contracts, Rights, and Royalties (CRR) Suite – delivered by our Development Center in Italy, founded in 2015 – became ready for market: all key contracts, rights, and royalties related processes of our solution can now be handled on STREAM.
This would not have been possible without Peter’s guidance and passion for developing state-of-the-art technology and software. Furthermore, Peter has significantly contributed to the transformation process of Klopotek becoming a globally-acting organization addressing and serving the needs of enterprise publishing. With the appointment as Deputy CEO, we now confirm these strategic decisions and strengthen the top management of Klopotek sustainably.”
Prior to joining Klopotek, Peter was CTO at hgv publishing services, a full service provider of the Holtzbrinck Publishing Group and major client of Klopotek. He joined hgv in 2005 and held various IT management positions while developing the IT landscape and service organization. Overseeing many IT projects, he was responsible for the ERP applications, data center management, and software development focusing on integration, digital business, and business intelligence services.
At previous employers like PSH Solutions GmbH, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, and Henke & Partner GmbH, Peter obtained a great deal of experience in the publishing industry and acquired substantial IT management competencies, especially in the field of software engineering.
