Klopotek at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2013

Klopotek’s stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair was very busy this year; about 160 publishing professionals joined us.

The two dominant topics for German-speaking publishing professionals were ‘metadata’ and ‘supplying web shops with data – including a seamless integration of the portals and shops with APIs’ in the context of establishing new business models. As these topics are not new, our conclusion is that the solutions that are in place (but will soon be replaced) are not fit for supporting new business models or were implemented as short-term solutions from the outset. Klopotek demonstrated in various meetings that our high-end solution provides a seamless integration of back end and front end.

Meetings of our international divisions (Europe and North America) focused on technological support for ‘online business models’; a key point was that automating the relationships of and integrating the processes of distributors, platforms, and portals is in many cases a highly individual matter.

The members of the Klopotek SaaS User Group met at the ‘long table’ at the Klopotek stand (and not in Hall 9.1, as previously announced). This made Thursday the busiest day at our stand.

We’d like to thank all of our customers and professionals interested in our services for stopping by and talking to us.

Klopotek at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2012

The Frankfurt Book Fair 2012 was the biggest book and media fair in the world - with around 7,400 exhibitors from over 100 countries. It also organised the participation of German publishers at around 20 international book fairs. It maintains the most visited website worldwide for the publishing industry at www.book-fair.com and its directory of decision-makers in the book and media industries features around 31,000 contacts. Frankfurt SPARKS, the Frankfurt Book Fair's digital initiative, unites the industry's digital products and projects under one roof, with the aim of bringing together contents and technology. The Frankfurt Academy - the new conference brand of the Frankfurt Book Fair in collaboration with the German Publishers & Booksellers Association, Börsenverein - offered in 2012 international congresses and trade events year-round. The Frankfurt Book Fair is a subsidiary of the German Publishers & Booksellers Association.
